Vibrators Explained
So What's A Vibrator....
People often confuse a dildo with a vibrator. Don't be embarrassed if you are one of those people because I use to be one of them before I started playing with sex toys.  I thought anything that looked like a penis was a dildo.  Wrong!  There is a big difference so I'm going to explain to you what a vibrator is and what it can do for you and your sex life.  So sit back and enjoy!

When we think of the word vibrator, the first thing that comes to mind is a penis shaped, battery operated piece of plastic, right?  Would you believe that vibrators come in all sizes, shapes, colors, and materials.  Yes, there are vibrators that are penis shaped and made of plastic but they aren't very practical nor do they do the trick.  Most women orgasm from direct clitoral stimulation so how the vibrator is shaped is less of an issue, as long as it hits the right spot.  If you are one of those few women that have orgasms from vaginal thrusting, then you are very lucky, and the penis shaped vaginal vibrators are perfect for you.

Vibrators come in either battery operated or electrical. Personally, I prefer the vibrators that run off of electricity and let me tell you why.  Batteries have a very short life and can be noisy and distracting when you are hot at it in sex.  There's nothing any worse than to be right at that climatic moment and have your batteries die!  I've had it happen....yuck!  And for the noise....if you're not careful in selecting a battery operated vibrator, you can get one that can be heard across your house - just what you want your mother or kids to hear, right?  Now the down side of electrical vibrators is that they usually come with a short cord.  Go buy a light-weight extension cord for a couple of bucks.  It's worth it.

Vibrators come in different varieties.  A very popular one on the market today is the 'wand' which comes either as a plug-in or with rechargeable batteries.  I have the Hitachi Magic Wand, which is great but a little to powerful for the clitoral.  Wands are great but I have found that the buzzing of head is large and sometimes makes it difficult to aim it where it needs to be.

The most common type of vibrators and what I prefer is the 'handle' type.  They look vaguely like a small hairdryer with a small, perpendicular shaft out of the thicker end, to which is attached a variety of heads.  The heads are generally of soft latex or plastic.  I love this type because they are easy to hold, come with a high/low setting, never die (unless someone pulls the plug), and come with a lot of choices.  Very easy to use on the clitoral or g-spot. My favorite is the E-Vibe Body Massage Kit.

Let's not forget men!  Men love the stimulation from vibrators on their scrotum and in the anus. Just be careful and choose a vibrator that has a low control setting as the scrotum and anus area are very easily burned - no fun in that!

In closing, let me stress a very important factor in using any type of vibrator on your intimate spots..... Apply Lubrication!  There is nothing more painful than to have friction burns in your vagina, clitoral, anus, or scrotum.  And, last but not least.... Wash your vibrators after every use!
